Why I B.E.A.M.
Beam robots are fun to build because you feel like you have created a life form after you build something that seeks what it eats (photovore charging and seeking light).It seems to have some logic to it but yet it is just a few transistors.
if you think about it....
solar cells are made from silicon
transistor junctions are also silicon
blinking led's? yep... part of them too.
this one element from the earth is bieng used to create life in a more complex mater than almost any one element. And besides,silicon is the second most abundant element on earth, so we wont run out.
BEAM just kinda makes you think and offers something to do...wich keeps you busy......wich keeps you happy! SO THERE
